Ada Dee moved to Selma when she was eighteen years old. She went to work at the well known Cigar Factory at that time. While there she met and fell in love with her future
husband William O. (Buddy) Kynard. They were married on April 7, 1945.
Ada loved the Bible and avidly read the scriptures on a daily basis and endeavored to always display a true Christian personality. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on September 11, 1950. She worked diligently sharing the scriptures from the bible by means of door to door witnessing and bible studies or anywhere there was a listening ear.
She had never driven a vehicle until after her husband’s death in 1985 when she learned how to drive and obtained a valid driver’s license and purchased her first vehicle after the age of sixty years old.
Ada received tremendous joy in preparing meals and inviting her family and friends to her home to enjoy good food and good association. One of her specialties was homemade pecan pies using pecans she picked up around her home. She especially liked making these for her grandson Jerrod and always made sure he had an extra one to take with him.
Another past time that brought Ada great joy was having her friends over for a game of canasta. Word search puzzles were also a delight for her.
Ada will be remembered fondly by all she knew for her generosity and kind qualities.
