Alex Tyler

Alex Tyler went home on October 2, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born March 24, 1939 to the late Percy and Bertha Tyler in Pine Hill, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Tyler; brother, Anthony Tyler and sister, Sue Lassiter.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary (Mike) Sims of Selma; brothers, Sammy (Joyce) Tyler, Julian Tyler and Amos Tyler; sisters, Elizabeth Patrick and Elaine White, all of Pine Hill, Alabama; grandchildren, Alex Tyler, Haley (Devan) Davis and Michael Sims and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a truck driver at Miller Lumber Company for over 40 years. In his lifetime, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors, valuing God's creation.

The family gives extended gratitude to Southland Nursing Home in Marion, Alabama for their professional care to Alex for the last seven years. The family would also like to recognize Vaughan Regional Medical Center for their assistance during Alex's last days.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home in Selma. The family will have a private burial.
