Andrea Cecilia Knowles Cross, age 77, of Selma, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016.
She was a graduate of Albert G. Parrish high school and The University of Alabama where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority
She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Noil "Bobby" Cross Sr.; and parents: Andrew and Thais Knowles.
Mrs. Cross is survived by her son: Robert Cross Jr; grandson: Robert "Trey" Cross III; sister in law: Betty Allen; and nieces: Dana Allen Haley and Kim Allen Gully.
Mrs. Cross has been a loving and caring mother and grandmother as well as a champion for all living things, including her cats and a special family of raccoons who were made to fell right at home in her back yard. She was the family photographer for all special events... birthdays, holidays, graduations, etc. She was famous for wanting to take "just one more" picture in the event the first two or three didn't "turn out".
She was an active Realtor for over 30 years as a part of Century 21, Heritage Real Estate and at her death, was a partner at Legacy Properties. She held various positions, including the Presidency, with the Selma Board of Realtors and was named Realtor of the Year on more than one occasion.
Mrs. Cross also served as tour director for the Vaughan-Smitherman Museum. She was passionate about historical Preservation and dedicated many hours over the years to Selma's Pilgrimage and the Annual Riverfront Market Day.
She was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Peace church where she experienced her faith on a daily basis.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Richard Myhalyk officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.
