Affectionately known as Annie Runny, Ann Owen Capps died at her home October 16, 2015, after a three year battle with breast cancer. Her husband of sixty-eight years was at her side when she passed. Born May 6, 1929, in Ware County, Georgia, to Jessie Ella Booth and Runny Fitzhugh Owen, she moved to Selma, Alabama shortly after her marriage. She was the last of six children. Ann worked at the Selma Baptist Hospital as a medical transcriptionist for over twenty years. She later worked with Cahaba Regional Mental Health as the drug clerk for fourteen years. Survivors include her husband, Bradley D. (B.D.) Capps; son, Bradley D. Capps (Stella); daughter, Candi C. Duncan (Arthur) of Selma, and daughter, Camille Capps of Destin, Florida. Grandchildren include, Tammy (Patrick) White, Wendy (Ricky) Moore, Morgan Duncan and Lane Duncan. Great-grandchildren are McLean, Clint and Blain White. Survivors also include a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Selma Funeral Home on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Rick Elrod officiating.
