She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther E. (Skeet) Morris; parents, Joseph and Ola Garrison and brother, Roy Lee Garrison.
Funeral services will be Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Valley Grande Baptist Church with Rev. George K. Jones, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2-3:00 p.m. at the church.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jimmy Owen of Meridian, MS; son, Lee Garrison Morris of Selma, AL; sister-in-law, Dot Morris of Douglasville, GA and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Until her illness, Mrs. Morris was an active member of Central Baptist Church, which later became Valley Grande Baptist Church in Selma, AL. During that time she served as a Sunday School and Training Union teacher and Women's Missionary Union leader. She retired from Bayuk Cigar Company as office manager after forty-six years.
Pallbearers will be James Bearden, Tom Dooling, Houston Hopkins, Harvey King, Thomas Monk and Robo Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Lafata, Jack Frost, Bob Meyers, Roger Fuller, Gary Thompson and Leonard Ingram.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Valley Grande Baptist Church, 48 County Road 16, Valley Grande, AL 36701, National Parkinson's Foundation, Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Ave./Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494 or American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
