Archie Shurden

Archie Lee Shurden, age 95, of Tyler, died Thursday, June 04, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ora Christine Fulgham Shurden of Tyler, Sons, Bruce Archie Shurden (Shirley) of Starksville, Ms, Jimmie Lee Shurden (Ruby) of Starksville, Daughters, Alice Faye Hinson (Tony) of Tyler, Minda Carol Lewellen of Tyler, Karen Elizabeth Corley (Stewart) of Tyler, 21 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Sisters Springs Baptist Church Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Bayne officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing and burial following at the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Shurden, Mark turner, Brad Turner, Stephen Turner, Scott Etheridge, and Chris Graham. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Park Chittom, Sr. Dr. Park Chittom, Jr. and Carroll Serman.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Park Place Nursing Home for all of their special care.
Visitation will be held at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday, June 5, 2009. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sisters Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
