Audrey Nichols ���Granny���, age 97, died Friday October 29, 2010. Audrey was born in Laska, AL but lived in Selma her whole life where she was a chartered member of the Selmont Baptist Church and was one of the oldest members.
Audrey spent her last year in Sun Bridge Nursing Home in Elmore. In 1935 she married her late husband JE Nichols who was superintendent of public service in Selma. Ms. Nichols also worked at Barton���s Department Store for many years.
Mr. and Mrs. Nichols had five children, Millon (Betty), Reuben (Willie Mae), Lorene (Don), Gene (Blanch) and the late Chris (Sandra) Nichols.
A Chapel service will be held Monday November 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Reverend Ed Byrom officiating and burial following in New Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-6 p.m. Sunday October 31, 2010.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimers Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., FL 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
