Belinda Ann Peavy, age 56, of Selma, passed away August 3, 2011. Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Westwood Baptist Church with Dr. Ed Eaton, Pastor and Rev. Bruce Squires officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Brown Funeral Home of Selma directing. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to service time at the church. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Samuel C. and Gladys Griffin and Martin Peavy and Effie Mae Fisher; uncles, Willie Daniel Griffin, Sammy Gene Griffin, Charles Leon Griffin, Jesse Squires and Bill and Marguerite Talbert. Belinda is survived by her parents, Billy R. and Gladys Vernell G. Peavy of Selma; sister, Wanda P. Arnold (Col Bradley D. Arnold, USAF Retired) of Niceville, FL; nieces, Capt J. Brooke Arnold, USAF, of Washington DC, and Katherine M. Arnold of Auburn, AL; uncle, Roland V. Griffin Sr. (Betty Griffin) of Selma; aunts, Laverne Riley (B.E. Riley) of Demopolis and Evelyn Mims (Ralph Mims) of Montgomery; cousins, Rufus and Anna Belle Pearson Sr. of Autaugaville; friends, Sol and Nellie Kate Tepper Jr. of Selma and Chuck and Lena Speir of Daphne. Belinda was a member of Westwood Baptist Church and an excellent athlete in the Special Olympics. She was best known for sharing the love of Jesus and sharing so much joy and many smiles to all those who crossed her path.
