Benjamin Cullen Nichols, age 84, of Selma, AL, passed away May 29, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clayton Nichols and Annie Laura Ham Nichols Rogers; step-father, Henry T. Rogers; brothers, James C. Nichols, James T. Rogers and Archie G. Rogers; sisters, Bernice N. Hughey and Judy R. Oakes. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Coon Nichols; children, Benjamin C. (Sydney) Nichols, Jr., Jeffrey C. (Sherrie) Nichols and Patrick A. (Brooke) Nichols; brother, John T. (Nina) Rogers; brothers-in-law, John Coon, Jr., Thomas Oakes and Bill (Lynn) Dailey; sisters-in-law, Frances Nichols and Laverne Rogers; mother-in-law, Frances Coon; grandchildren, John Allen Nichols, Hope Nichols, Haley Nichols, Doston Nichols, Clayton Nichols and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Benjamin Nichols, Jr. and Rev. Cory Horton officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Nichols retired from the U. S. Postal Service and established Nichols Deer Processing. He was a member of Elkdale Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a member of the VFW, the Lion's Club of Selma, American Legion and was an avid golfer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Elkdale Baptist, 2221 Elkdale Street, Selma, AL, 36701 or Life Outreach International, P. O. Box 982000, Ft. Worth, TX, 76182-8000.
