Bernie Groves

Bernie Reed Groves died at the age of 74 on Aug. 6, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Janice Marie; his children, Jason (Wendy), Dana (James), and Clinton (Denise); grandchildren, Steven, Natalie, and Ryan; brothers, Allen (Johnny) and Ronnie; sister, Regina (Larry) Dobbs and many more, who he openly considered children and grandchildren. Bernie was many things to many people: a dependable friend, a co-worker who always expected the best you could give just as he gave, someone you could call on in a time of need and be certain he would answer. To his family, he was all of those things and more, he is our dad or husband. He taught us kindness, respect, responsibility, trying your best, how to stay calm in a situation, and the required curse words for proper car maintenance. We are missing you in our lives even though you're still with us in our hearts. We love you. Visitation to be held at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, 800-898 County Road 83 Jones AL, 36749 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday Aug. 12th, 2017 with services to immediately follow at the same location. Wear what is comfortable as will Dad. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations on behalf of Bernie Reed Groves to the Wounded Warriors Project.
