Betty Dempsey

Betty Jo Dempsey, age 74, of Selma, AL, passed away June 3, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Fletcher Dempsey, Jr. Surviving are her children, Brenda Dempsey, Audrey D. Webster, Harold Dempsey and Ginger D. (Mark) McMillian; sisters, Bobby Burnes and Lemmie Porter; grandchildren, Robin Webster, B. J. Webster, Cory Webster, Tiffany Dempsey, and Chase Dempsey; great-grandchildren, Kyle Webster, Laila Webster, Cameron Webster, Liam Webster and Ryleigh Webster and numerous nieces and nephews.. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Sumerlin officiating. Interment will be in Ocmulgee Baptist Church with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 5, 2013 from 5-7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be deacons at Ocmulgee Baptist Church. Mrs. Dempsey was member of Ocmulgee Baptist Church and active in the Civitan Club. She was also active in the "Selma Twirlers" Dance Club for many years. Mrs. Dempsey leaves behind many loved ones who will miss her dearly. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jean Brannon of Cahaba Hospice.
