Betty Kirkland

Betty Jo Kirkland, age 78, passed away on January 10, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everton Elliott Kirkland (Kirk). Born November 1, 1932, in Camden, Alabama, she was the daughter of John Wesley and Leona Wright. She is survived by her children, Donna Kirkland Cline (Mark), Birmingham, AL; Everton Elloitt Kirkland, Jr. (Linda), Selma, AL, John Harold Kirkland, Montevallo, AL, Kim Kirkland Lien (Krist), Perdido Key, FL and Sandra Arnold and family of Newville, AL. Also surviving are granddaughters, Maria Reed, of McCalla, AL, Leah Kirkland, McCalla, AL, Ashley Kirkland, Selma, AL, and step-granddaughters, Chism Lien and Larsen Lien, Tuscaloosa, AL as well as her great grandchildren, Grace, Gage, Gavin and Zachary.
To live in hearts, we leave behind is not to die, and the beautiful kindness and ready smile will live on in the hearts of many friends, as well, in the hearts of her family. Visiting hours with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Thursday, January 13, at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Graveside services to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the New Live Oak Cemetery with Reverend Deborah Born officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the UAB Palliative Care Center, Odyssey Hospice, or a local animal shelter.
