Betty Jean Bolden Smith Thomley, 78 of Valley Grande, Alabama passed away on January 10, 2010 at home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 13, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Summerfield Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Fancher officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
She was born on September 27, 1931 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi to Lillie Bell Ashley and Bennie Eugene Bolden.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Ann Smith, grandson, Gary Wade Smith, Jr., sisters, Sybil Bryan and Sylvia McCloud, brothers, Jackie Burchfield and Ricky Burchfield.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby Wayne (Sue) Smith of Marion Junction, Alabama and Gary Wade (Debra) Smith of Valley Grande, Alabama, grandchildren, Sandra Gayle Smith (James) Mills of Ardmore, Alabama, Michael Shawn Smith of Prattville, Alabama, Dylan Shelby Smith of Marion Junction, Alabama, sisters, Shirley Jumper and Sharon Powell, and loving friend and caregiver, Stella Towns, and former husbands, Ralph Fredrick Thomley and Jesse Thurston Smith. She cherished her family and will be greatly missed. She loved Alabama Crimson Tide Football and her job with South Central Bell Telephone Company. She retired in 1982 after 32 years of service.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday January 12, 2010 from 6-8 at the funeral home.

She is survived by her sons, Bobby Wayne (Sue) Smith of Marion Junction, Alabama and Gary Wade (Debra) Smith of Valley Grande, Alabama, grandchildren, Sandra Gayle Smith (James) Mills of Ardmore, Alabama, Michael Shawn Smith of Prattville, Alabama, Dylan Shelby Smith of Marion Junction, Alabama, sisters, Shirley Jumper and Sharon Powell, and loving friend and caregiver, Stella Towns, and former husbands, Ralph Fredrick Thomley and Jesse Thurston Smith. She cherished her family and will be greatly missed. She loved Alabama Crimson Tide Football and her job with South Central Bell Telephone Company. She retired in 1982 after 32 years of service.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday January 12, 2010 from 6-8 at the funeral home.
