Billy Charles Seymore passed away March 24, 2024 at the age of 83. He was born September 28, 1940 to the late James Cawthon Seymore and Clara Smith Seymore.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June DeRamus Seymore; brother, Jimmy Seymore; sister, Stella Terrell and brothers-in-law, Kenneth DeRamus, Bill DeRamus, Albert DeRamus and Bill Terrell.
He is survived by his daughters, Janet (Ted) Hughes and Dana (Ned) Ling; grandchildren, Jameson (Morgan) Ling, Laurel Ling, Claire Hughes and Katherine Hughes; sisters-in-law, Henrietta DeRamus and Ann DeRamus and one niece and two nephews.
Billy led a fulfilling life characterized by hard work and a deep sense of compassion. His career spanned over 40 years at Bush Hog, where he expressed his strong work ethic and dedication. Billy's unassuming nature and generous heart defined him as a caring and benevolent individual. Despite being a man of few words, his actions spoke volumes about the immense love he carried within him. His family and friends will always remember him for his kindness, warmth, and willingness to support others in times of need.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Billy also proudly served in the Alabama National Guard for six years as an expert rifleman. His commitment to serving his country reflected his sense of duty and honor, qualities that endeared him to those around him. Outside of work and military service, Billy found joy in simple pleasures. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and golfing in his younger years, finding solace and happiness in the beauty of nature and the thrill of outdoor pursuits.
One of Billy's proudest achievements was building a home for himself and his beloved wife June with the help of his brother. This accomplishment was a testament to his determination, perseverance, and love for his family—a symbol of the enduring bond they shared throughout their lives together.
The family will hold a private service, where he will be laid to rest at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing.
