Blanchard LeBaron McLeod, Jr. passed away May 23rd,2022 at the age of 78. He was born in Camden, AL to the late Blanchard McLeod, Sr. and Daphne McLendon McLeod.
He is survived by his daughter, Lucia (Dave) Levins; grandchildren, Steele Levins and Xander Levins; and brother Donald (Donna) McLeod.
Blanchard graduated from Troy State University, after which he pursued his master’s degree from Auburn University. He then used his master’s degree to become a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor ultimately finding his home in Selma, AL. Blanchard then moved his family to Birmingham to pursue his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. After earning his law degree, he returned to Selma where he served for over 40 years in the community he cared for until his passing.
Blanchard was a devout Christian and belonged to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 27th at 2:00 P.M at the Camden Cemetery next to the Camden Baptist Church on Broad St. in Camden, AL. Saturday’s mass at 4:00 PM at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Selma will be dedicated to the memory of Blanchard if anyone would like to attend.
