Boles B. Pegues Jr., age 87, of Marion Junction, died Wednesday, January 25, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father, Boles B. Pegues Sr. and mother, Mary S. Pegues, his wife of 27 years, Nan Noojin Pegues; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include his daughters; Julia P. Caro (Duke) of Prattville, AL and Carol Dorsey (Bob) of Mobile, AL son, Boles B. Pegues III (Lynn) of Cusseta, AL; grandchildren, Lydia Dorsey, Peter Dorsey, Adele Pegues and Allie Pegues; special friend, Clariece Perdue.
Mr. Boles B. Pegues was born on December 26, 1924 in Marion, AL and was a long time resident of Marion Jct., where he served as superintendent of Marion Jct. Presbyterian Church. He was an avid horseman and cattleman. He served in the infantry in Europe during World War II.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Travis Barnes officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. prior to the service at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home in Selma, Al.
Honorary pallbearers will be Peter Dorsey, Steven Pegues, Winford Walker, and Gene Pegues B.A Duncan, Brown Bolding, Earl Compton, Aubrey Rush, Malcomb Pegues, Edward Pegues.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to a charity of choice.
