Breal Johnson

February 21, 1925 — December 27, 2016

Breal Johnson, 91, of Selma, Alabama went home to her Heavenly Father Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Mike McElroy officiating. Burial will directly follow in Pineview Memory Gardens. Mrs. Johnson was born February 21, 1925 on the family farm near Ashford, Alabama to the late Luda and O. S. Nowell, Sr. In 1945 she moved to Selma with her husband. She worked at Craig Air Force Base Exchange until its closing. She retired from J. C. Penny in 1998 after 17 years of service as head sales specialist. She was a devoted and caring sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Johnson also loved working in her beautiful yard and flower gardens. She was a member of Woodland Heights Presbyterian Church for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, J. H. Johnson, Jr., brothers, Ray Nowell, Tommy Nowell, and O. S. Nowell Jr., sisters, Evie Jean Burch, Ruth Ellen Buie, and Annie M. Mills, and a grandson, John Wade Johnson. She is survived by her son, H. Wade Johnson (Shirley) of Lake Martin, Alabama; a granddaughter, Teresa Deloney (Rick) of Montgomery; great grandsons, Richard Wade Deloney (Erica) of Auburn, Garrett Deloney, and Trace Deloney of Montgomery; two sisters, Faye Watkins of Dothan and Gloria Moseley (Dale) of Elba; and brother, Jerry Nowell Sr. (Jeanie) of Daleville. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Pallbearers will be Richard Wade Deloney, Garrett Deloney, Trace Deloney, Joe Massey, Don Mills, and Brian Mills. Her sweet smile and loving, caring personality will be missed greatly by her family and all who knew her.
