Calvin Carlyle Ross, age 57 of Valley Grande, AL, passed away on December 21, 2009. Calvin worked for Cooper Brothers Construction Company for twenty six years. He enjoyed playing Santa Clause for local children, nursing homes, churches, Christmas parades, malls and most of all for his family. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1737, the Tuscaloosa Moose Lodge 804 and the Eastern Shore Lodge 2687. He served as Deputy Supreme Governor for the State of Alabama. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was preceded by his parents, John Calvin Ross, Jr. and Annie Pearl Ross Howton. He is survived by his wife Janet Ross; sons, Jeremy (April) Ross, Michael (Leslie) Ross, Michael Wayne Epperson; daughters, Susan Michelle (Tomie) MajKowski and Jennifer Lynn Epperson; grandchildren, Donnie Ross, Hayden Ross, Blake Ross, Jamie Epperson, Kaitlyn Ross, Hannah Ross and Oscar MajKowski; sisters, Shebra (Jackie) Kidd, Brenda (Andy) Parton, Rhonda (Roger) Williams and Wendy (Del) Tanner; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Bayne and Rev. Glenn Walker officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Tuesday December 22, 2009 at the Selma Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Glenn Johnson, Andrew Muse, Danny Lane, Jody Ruder, James Mims, Mike Friday and Bubba Lowe. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Cooper Brothers Construction Company.
