Carl Mott, Sr.

Carl Ralph Mott, Sr., age 87, of Selma, AL, passed away July 11, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alpha and Lessie Mott; brothers, Howard Mott and Donald Mott; sisters, Hazel Huggins and Violet Bitzer and daughter, Sharon Mott. Surviving are his wife, Louise Fain Mott; children, Ralph (Debbie) Mott, Jr., Robin Mott, Allen Mott, Craig (Sharon) Mott, Jackie Mott Gandy and Eric Mott; sisters, Thelma Bowdoin and Evelyn (Jack) Barrow; brothers, Judson (Alice) Mott, James (Bonnie) Mott and Lamar (Bonnie) Mott; brother-in-law, Jimmy Bitzer; grandchildren, Jessica Mott, Heather Mott, Nicki Gandy (Ricky) Vogler, Shannon Mott, Whitley Mott (Tyrone) Gunn, Zach Gandy, Tanner Chapman; great-grandchildren, Hayden Mott, Ty Gunn, Kylee Mott, Roegen Vogler; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends, and special caregivers, Susie Q. Wilson, Mary Weeden and Melba Sellars. Funeral services will be Friday, July 14, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Duke officiating. Interment will be in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Perry County with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ralph Mott, Robin Mott, Allen Mott, Craig Mott, Eric Mott, Mark Mott, Zach Gandy and Ricky Vogler. Honorary pallbearers will members of the HHC 122nd Support Group and employee of South Central Bell and Bell South. Flowers will be accepted or the family requests memorial donations be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
