Carolyn Yvonne Cason passed away April 10, 2025 at the age of 78. She was born in Columbus, Georgia December 6, 1946 to the late Cecil Cullefer, Sr. and Marilyn House Kennerly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey W. Cason; companion and life long partner, Gordon Gougler; daughter, Tracy Bailey; son-in-law, Randy Pugh; sister, Cecilia Mullins.
As the family matriarch, Carolyn held a special place in the hearts of her loved ones. She was the self-elected host at family gatherings, taking immense pride in orchestrating these cherished events, skillfully instructing who should bring what dish to the table. Her home was a gathering place—filled with the aromas of beloved family recipes and the sounds of joyful conversations. Family meant everything to Carolyn, and she dedicated her life to nurturing these relationships, ensuring that each family member felt cherished and included.
Her outgoing personality was infectious, lighting up every room she entered. Carolyn had a wonderful outlook on life; she radiated positivity and uplifted those around her. Friends and family alike found solace in her unwavering support and encouragement. Everyone loved her for not only her effervescent spirit but also for the genuine care she extended to anyone who crossed her path.
Carolyn was a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply, but it was her great-grandchildren who were the true apples of her eye. The pure joy she found in their laughter and the simple moments spent together created a bond that will remain forever etched in their hearts.
Beyond her family life, Carolyn also found joy in her hobbies. She loved to play cards with a devoted group of ladies in Selma, where laughter and friendly competition brought them closer. Shopping and browsing jewelry were among her favorite pastimes, and she always had an eye for the elegant and beautiful.
