Carolyn Heinz Knight passed away January 28, 2010, in Selma, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Raiford Heinz and Melvin Curtis Heinz. Mrs. Knight was a 1952 graduate of Albert G. Parrish High School. She graduated from Stephens College - a junior college in Columbia, Missouri, There after she graduated from the University of Alabama where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. While at Stephens College, Mrs. Knight was selected President of the Prince of Wales Club.
She taught in the Selma public and private school systems and had her own Kindergarten in the Country for many years. She received numerous Tennessee Walking Horse Association and American Saddlebred Horse Association honors.
Mrs. Knight is survived by two sisters, Rosemary Heinz Turner (Milam), Mildred ���Tutter��� Heinz Lamb (Frank), and one brother, Melvin Curtis Heinz, Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 2 pm Sunday, January 31, 2010, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Dr. Ron Stone of The First Presbyterian Church officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Memorial gifts, if desired, may be made to the Central Alabama Animal Shelter (Selma Animal Shelter), The First Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
