Carroll Rhyne

Carroll Hoffman Rhyne was born December 7, 1925 and entered eternal life February 16, 2011. Preceded in death by parents Brady and Laura Rhyne. He was one of four siblings: Stella Rhyne Hobdy, Julia Rhyne Nolen and Beula Rhyne Carswell (Deceased).
He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Mary Thomas Rhyne. Their children, Carroll Hoffman Rhyne, Jr. wife Beckie Gallagher Rhyne, Daniel Thomas Rhyne wife Patricia McPherson Rhyne, Dr. David Nelson Rhyne wife Diane Massey Rhyne and Mary Rhyne Speed husband Reverend Clayton Speed. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, Ashley Rhyne Williams, Carroll Hoffman Rhyne, III (Courtney), Laura Rhyne Tabor (Jason), Daniel Thomas Rhyne, Jr. (Kellie), Kennedy Rhyne Walker (Edward), David Nelson Rhyne, Jr. (Tiffany), Mary Kathryn Rhyne Motley (Matthew), Robert Rhett Rhyne, Emily Roberts Rhyne, Rachel Maegan Farrar Rhyne, Clayton King Speed, Isabelle Rhyne Speed, Joshua Graham Speed, Judith Gabriel Speed and five great-grandchildren, Ed Williams, Rhyne Williams, David Nelson Rhyne, III, Jack Walker and John Hendricks Rhyne and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday February 20, 2011 at Benton United Methodist Church with Reverends Travis Barnes, Lee Tate and Clayton Speed officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing and burial following in Benton Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Southern Sportsmans Lodge immediately following the service.
He loved God, the church, his family, his friends, his work and the people of Benton.
Pallbearers will be Carroll Hoffman Rhyne, III, Daniel Thomas Rhyne, Jr., David Nelson Rhyne, Jr., Robert Rhett Rhyne, Clayton King Speed, Jr. and Donnie Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Frances Middleton, George Wood, David Lyon and David Holman.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be made to Benton United Methodist Church C/O Beckie Rhyne, 200 Rhyne Rd. Benton, AL 36785.
