Cecile Gray Youngblood, wife of Dr. B. Lee Youngblood, died Sunday, April 15th. Born March 31, 1944 in Greensboro, she was the daughter of the late Gladys and Cecil Gray. The Youngbloods moved to Selma in 1970 where they raised their two sons, Dr. Beekman Lee Youngblood, IV and Gray Calhoun Youngblood. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Selma, Alabama where she served on the flower guild. She also was a member of the Selma Charity League, Haymakers, and the Friday Bridge Group. She is survived by her husband, Dr. B. Lee Youngblood, her sons-Lee and his wife Becky and their three children, Lilly, Maggie and John Beekman; and Gray and wife Audra and their son Cal and her mother-in-law Evelyn Youngblood. She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Gray Collins (Terrel). She is also survived by two sisters-Nan Gray (David) and Glinda Gray Anderson (Bart); brother, Bryant Gray (Joyce), and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall of St. Paul's Episcopal Church from 12:00 until 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverends David and Betsy Powell presiding. Burial will follow in Carlowville, Alabama in the St. Paul's Episcopal Church cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.
