Charles Cheney "Chuck" Smedley

Charles Cheney "Chuck" Smedley, age 64 of Plantersville, Alabama died on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

He was born on May 24, 1960 to the late Clyde Joseph Smedley and the late Lucretia Cheney Smedley.

Chuck was a heavy equipment operator. 

Chuck is survived by his wife, Jamar Carroll Smedley; daughter, Cheney Smedley Hoffman (Bo); grandaughters, Callen Hamilton and Madelynn Hamilton; siblings, Linda Walker (Mike), Ruby Jo Caver (George Larry), David Smedley (Brenda), Karen King, and Lucretia Cleckler (Evan); father and mother-in-law, Noodie and Nell Carroll; and a host of neices, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents. 

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Plantersville Christian Church Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Mitchell Carroll officiating.

Pallbearers will be Allen Bearden, Sr., Allen Bearden, Jr., Jerry Atchison, Danny Paxton, Buddy McLendon, and Ralph Zimmerman.

Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Carroll. 

A visitation wil be held on Tuesday, Juy 16, 2024 from 5-7 pm at the Selma Funeral Home in Valley Grande, Alabama.
