Charles Maurer

Charles “Gene” Eugene Maurer passed away November 6, 2019 at the age of 85. He was born January 23, 1934 to the late Lewis Maurer and Lois Jackson Maurer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Clark Maurer; step-son, Henry “Hank” Tolar; sister, Sarah Maurer Harrell and brother-in-law, Thomas Pierson.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Martha Maurer; son, Charles “Chuck” (Hayne) Maurer; step-sons, Michael (Debi) Tolar, Greg (Lori) Tolar and Andy (Lisa) Tolar; grandchildren, Katie Maurer, C.J. Maurer, Ragan Youngblood, Reid (Ashley) Tolar, Kaeli Toler, Zachary (Joy) Tolar, Ara Ruth Tolar, Pierce Tolar, Drew Tolar and Emily Tolar; great-grandchildren, Audrey Tolar, Jonah Livingston and Israel Tolar; brothers-in-law, Paul Harrell and Tommy (Miriam) Watson; sisters-in-law, Bette Clark Pierson and Sue Watson (Jordan) Cooper and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Barnes officiating. Burial will be in New Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.
