Charles Nichols

Charles Herbert Nichols, 84, of Valley Grande, died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel Saturday August 24 at 11:00 a.m. with Danny Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow at Ephesus Baptist Cemetery in Perry County.

Survivors include his son, Charles Gregory (Debbie) Nichols of Selma; daughter, Glenda Marie Nichols of Selma; two grandchildren, Melissa Farr (Bill) Dye of Ft. Hood, Texas and Jennifer Nichols of Selma; great-grandchildren, Alex Dye and Abbie Claire Dye of Ft. Hood, Texas, and Avery Nichols of Selma; brother John T. (Gail) Nichols of Montgomery, Alabama; sisters Billie Jean Nichols ( Dwight) Taylor of Costa Mesa, California, and Joanne Nichols (Julian) White of Suttle, Alabama, and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Joyce Nichols, parents, Jeremiah Van and Gillie Nichols, sister, Gladys (Byron) Nichols Mosley, and brothers, Leslie Nichols (Edith), Loyd (Jane) Nichols, and Max (Patricia Ann) Nichols.

Active pallbearers will be Leonard Hicks, Charles Buchanan Jr., Scott Ammons, Jeffrey Waites Sr., Jeffrey Waites Jr., and Tyler Ammons.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O David Wallace Treasurer 26965 Hwy. 183 Marion, AL. 36756.

Visitation will be at Lawrence Funeral Home Friday August 23, from 6pm to 8 pm.
