Charles William Usrey

Charles William Usrey of Selma passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma at the age of 88.

He was born in Fayetteville, Alabama on August 12, 1934 to the late Howard Usrey and the late Gertrude Goodman Usrey.

He retired from International Paper after 30 plus years of service. Charles served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force. He was also a faithful member of Memorial United Methodist Church here in Selma.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Usrey; son, Garth Usrey (DeeDee Quigley); step-children, Duke Brady (Sharon), Pam Bostick (Oscar), Bob Brady (Tresa), and Craig Brady (Lessie); 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Kay Davis (Billy), Helen Hammonds and Bill Usrey.  

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mamye Usrey; and siblings, Betty Hatchett, Shirley Butler, and Jerry Usrey.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Selma Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
