Cheryl Sharpe

June 27, 1952 — July 13, 2019

Mrs. Cheryl Ann Andrews Sharpe, affectionately called "Mutton" age 67 of Selma, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 13, 2019. She was born in Calhoun County on June 27, 1952 to the late Otis Covington and Joan T. Andrews.
Cheryl joined Salem Christian Church in Calhoun County, Alabama at an early age. After moving to Selma, AL, Cheryl joined the Little Canaan Primitive Baptist Church. Cheryl worked tirelessly as the President of the Little Canaan Gospel Chorus, the Youth Choir Director, and served on the Senior Usher Board, Secretary of the Missionary Society, Sunday School Teacher, Member of the Trustee Board, President of the Program Committee, and Coordinator of Black History Month.
Cheryl attended Alabama State University, Montgomery, AL and later transferred and graduated from Selma University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. Cheryl worked diligently for over 35 years at American Apparel.
Cheryl's loving memories will be cherished by; A loving Husband of 28 years, Mr. Joseph Sharpe; Two God-daughters, Leola Ruffin and Shemika Morgan Hunter of Selma; A beautiful and loving mother, Ms. Joan T. Andrews of Calhoun, AL; Four loving brothers, Carl Andrews of Montgomery, AL, Derry Andrews of Calhoun, AL, Denzil Andrews of Lilburn, GA, and Dana Andrews of Calhoun, AL; Three loving sisters, Erica Andrews of Montgomery, AL, Joyce Andrews of Calhoun, AL, and Sharon Andrews Hardy of Montgomery, AL; Aunt, Alice Bason of Mobile, AL; Five loving brothers-in-law, Tommie (Priscilla) Frazier of Palmetto, FL, Leroy (Belzora) Sharpe of Selma, AL, Ernest (Ayano) Sharpe of Okinawa, Japan, Nathaniel (Senorita) Sharpe of Tuscaloosa, AL, and Eddie Sharpe of Selma, AL; Two loving sisters-in-law, Cheryl T. Sharpe of Selma, AL, and Retired Sergeant Majors Lula (Reginald) Sharpe Chancellor of Huntsville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and extended family.
Pallbearers will be family, friends, and nephews of Cheryl.
Ushers will be members of the Little Canaan Primitive Baptist Church and Saint Paul's Methodist Church.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 3-5 pm at Selma Funeral Home.
A second visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Saint Paul's Methodist Church from 10:00am until 12:00pm.
Funeral services will held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from the Saint Paul's Methodist Church at 12:00pm with the Reverend Lionel Young officiating.
Interment will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande.
Repast will be held at Saint Paul's Methodist Church.
Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to Selma Funeral Home of Valley Grande, AL.
