Clarice C. Rives age 84, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 with family by her side in Navarre Florida.
She was born in Selma on December 18, 1936. She retired as a medical
transcriptionist from the hospital with over 50 years of experience.
She is survived by her daughter, Leigh Cox and son in law Jim Cox; granddaughter, McKinsey Franklin and her husband Geoff; great-grandson, Crawford Franklin; brother, Howard Clonts and wife Jean; sister, Sara Teal and her husband Billy; step-daughters, Melissa Brown and her husband Dave, and Debbie Rives; grandson, Nicholas Brown; numerous nieces and nephew; and former daughter-in-law, Monta Honeycutt.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Rose Leigh Clonts; her
husband, Whitfied Jack Rives; sister, Geraldine Walsh (Johnny); son, Butch Crawford; son, Chuck Ward; and grandson, Forrest Brown.
Her love for Christ and her family were immeasurable. Her faith kept her going through each obstacle she faced in life. As the angels carried her home she was at peace.
She made many lasting friendships through the years at the hospital. Her biggest complaint as she got older is she could no longer wear her high heel shoes.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. from the Chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Rev. James Duke officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the funeral home.
Donations can be made to West End Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
