Claude C. Boykin, Jr., 87, of Huntsville, passed away Wednesday. Mr. Boykin served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952, and graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1962. He was a Computer Systems Designer for NASA from 1962 to 1988. After retirement, he and his wife travelled extensively, both in the U.S. and around the world. He was a member of the Georgia Tech Camera Club, the Huntsville Chapter of the National Speleological Society, the Huntsville Gem and Mineral Society, and was active in the Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta A. Boykin; daughter, Catherine A. Boykin; and cousin, Theus Baty of Birmingham.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at Church of the Nativity, Episcopal, with the funeral service to follow at the church. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Carlowville, AL.
