Colonel John Schmitt

Col. John G. Schmitt, Jr. U.S.A.F. (Ret) passed away October 10, 2016 at the age of 93. He was born June 4, 1923 to the late John G. Schmitt, Sr. and Anna Shaffer Schmitt.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Plummer Schmitt.
He is survived by his children, John G. (Teja) Schmitt, III, James G. Schmitt, Janice G. Schmitt and Joseph G. Schmitt; grandchildren, Reno Schmitt and Morgan Lorraine Schmitt; brother-in-law, James Floyd (Kaye Cursey) Plummer, Sr. niece, Karim Plummer Oaks and nephew, James Floyd Plummer, Jr.
Graveside services with full military honors will be Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Lee Tate officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers will be the Honor Guard of the United States Air Force.
