Dallas D. Lloyd, 87, of Mansfield, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Holy Family Home in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born April 8, 1929 in Cleveland Ohio, to the late Dallas L. and Irene Mae (Miller) Lloyd.
He was a graduate of Strongsville High School, Florida State University and Columbia University. Dallas served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1954-1956. He worked his entire career in Washington, D.C. for the U.S. State Department as an analyst for the U.S. Foreign Service. He retired to Mansfield in 1989 and continued to follow international politics and events.
Dallas was a member of Columbia University Alumni Society and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He enjoyed classical music and was well versed in composers and their music. Dallas attended St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. A man of strength and integrity, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Dallas is survived by a sister, Juanita Frank Kocsis; nieces, Karolee Lloyd, Marilee (Joe) Lloyd-Redding and Susan (Jim) Kuemmel; a nephew, Michael Frank; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Lloyd; and special friend, Rene Papenhausen. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Lloyd; and a brother, Richard Lloyd.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road.
