David Bowen

David Bowen, age 89, of Valley Grande, AL, passed away January 16, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life for sixty-nine years, Elois Bowen; parents, Samuel and Claudia Brown; two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his children, Elaine (Doug) Bouder, Ellen (Gene) Ireland and Sandra (Charles) Shoultz; grandchildren, Angie Hammons, David (Priscilla) Pitts, Warren Reaves, Scotty Reaves, Laurie (Mitchell) Hall and Josh Shoultz; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Blake officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Interment will be Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be members of Northside Baptist Church where he served as a member and teacher for many years. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Park Place Nursing and Rehab and Homestead Hospice, and to his church family.
