David O'Shields age 78 of Selma, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at his home.
David was born on February 22, 1943 in Alabama to the late Albert O'Shields and the late Lottie Hooks O'Shields.
He was a retired carman with Norfolk Southern Railroad after 35 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa C. O'Shields; children, Michele (Randy) Lewis, Shannon E. O'Shields, Kevin (Cindy) O'Shields; grandchildren, Zoe (Joshua) Bradley, Taylor Williams, Dawson Williams, Malcom Jones, and Jamison O'Shields; great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Williams; and sister, Ruth Hicks.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lottie O'Shields; and siblings, Grady O'Shields, Lavon O'Shields, Robert O'Shields, and Dorothy Bartlett.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 in New Live Oak Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ed Eaton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Friday at the Selma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kevin O'Shields, Dawson Williams, Zoe Lewis, Billy Luker, Cody Luker, Garrett White.
Honorary pallbearers will be Al O'Shields, Earl Luker, Doc Meeks, Jason Roberts, Randy Lewis, and Michael Gordon.
Flowers will accepted or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Final care and arrangements have been faithfully entrusted to the care of Selma Funeral Home.
