Deborah Jean Cooper Jones

Deborah Jean Cooper Jones of Selma, passed away at home on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the age of 68.

She was born in Georgetown, South Carolina on October 27, 1954 to the late Willie Cooper and Lessie Goins Cooper.

Deborah retired from Bush Hog after more than 25 years of service.

She will fondly be remembered in the Selma community as a lady that never met a stranger. Always sharing a smile and had kind words to say. She had a love for her Lord and also her precious fur babies. Deborah will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers and neighbors of Deborah that provided companionship to her over the last few years, Sallie Howard, Rena Nail, and Melba Roberts.

She is survived by her siblings, Tony Cooper (Jennifer), Willie Cooper (Alicia), and Tanya McCall (Billy); numerous nieces and nephews; and her life-long friend, Nancy Siau.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Terry Kirton; and fur babies, Luke, Max, Lady Benton, Snickers, and Oreo.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. from the Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Randy deBrabant officiating.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

In honoring Deborah's wishes, she will return to her home state of South Carolina to be laid to rest.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund at either Valley Grande Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Selma, or the Shiloh Baptist Church in Sardis.

Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Selma Funeral Home of Valley Grande.
