Deborah Boley "Debbie" Reed passed away on July 8, 2024 at the age of 74 in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 14, 1950 in Selma, Alabama to James and Barbara Boley.

Debbie's life was filled with love and dedication to her family. She was the devoted wife of Donald Wayne Reed for 57 years - a testament to the enduring love they shared. Together, they built a life filled with mutual care and affection, demonstrating a rare commitment that inspired those around them.

In her professional life,  Debbie worked at Boley and Reed Refrigeration for 34 years, where her hard work and dedication left a lasting impact. Outside of work, she found joy in sewing, crafting, gardening and studying holistic and herbal medicines and remedies. Her passion for caring for her loved ones extended beyond her family, as she always had a solution for anyone who came to her with a problem, ensuring no one ever left her house hungry.

Debbie had a strong connection to Nature and enjoyed trips to the mountains in Tennessee and the beach. These moments of tranquility and beauty brought her peace and happiness, allowing her to recharge and appreciate the simple joys of life.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Benton Boley and brother, Teddy Lamar Boley.

She will be deeply missed by her family, including her husband, Donald Wayne Reed; daughters, Melinda "Mende" Reed Lawrence and Deidra "DeeDee" Reed (Jessica) Fellows; grandchildren, Josh (Jessica) Reed, Deborah (Trey) Hagemann, Leasha (Ryan) Borgan, Jessie (Lindsey) Young; seven great-grandchildren; mother, Barbara Boley; siblings, James Boley, Ray (Kay) Boley and Patty (George) York and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, July 12, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma. The family will begin receiving friends at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m., prior to the service. The service will be live-streamed online, via the funeral home's Facebook page.

Debbie's warm spirit, kindness and unwavering dedication to her family will leave an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Debbie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will forever be cherished and her love will continue to guide those she left behind. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty and serenity she cherished in life.
