Dianne Ramsey Woodruff

April 7, 1939 — January 13, 2025

Dianne Woodruff, a resident of Birmingham, went to her heavenly home on January 13, 2025 at the age of 85.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Sister Springs Baptist Church, Tyler AL with Bro. Jim Tate officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at 1:00 p.m., one hour before the funeral.

Dianne was born in Columbus, GA on April 7, 1939 to Greer & Nell Ramsey. She married the love of her life on September 22, 1957. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a big asset to her husband who served in the ministry for 33 years. She loved working with the church youth groups, singing in the choir, and playing the piano. She sang with the Calverettes and The Spring Lighters (ensemble groups in churches where they served). 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Eugene (Gene) Woodruff; parents, Greer & Nell Ramsey, sister, Patricia (John) Ethridge, brothers-in-laws, Rudy Hayes, Ray (Peggy) Woodruff, Milton Woodruff, Frederick (Myrtis) Woodruff and Jim Greene, and sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Virgil) Bruner and Josephine (George) Bush. 

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (David) Turner of Cottonwood AL; sons, Woody (Melissa) Woodruff of Prattville AL, Mark (Cammie) Woodruff of Birmingham AL and Chad (Kendra) Woodruff of Montgomery AL; nine grandchildren, Deven (Chase) Turner, Keith (Anna) Turner, Jennifer Chandler, Trey (Diane) Woodruff, Cynthia Barrett, Courtney (Jonathan) Brown, Julia Woodruff, Suzy Woodruff and Lori Woodruff; twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great granddaughters; sister, Charlene Hayes; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Greene and Betty Woodruff. 

Pallbearers will be Deven Turner, Keith Turner, Trey Woodruff, Jonathan Brown, Parker Turner and Tripp Turner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to either Sister Springs Baptist Church, P O Box 457, Tyler AL 36785, The Gideons International, 133 Princeton Drive, Dothan AL 36301 or Memphis Baptist Church, 4595 Eddins Road, Dothan AL 36301.
