Mrs. Dollie Mae Oates Jones age 79 of Selma, passed peacefully from this walk of life into the next on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma.
Dollie was born in Deatsville, Alabama on April 14, 1941.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son, Donald L. "Don" Jones, Jr. (Kay) of Selma; grandson, Travis Christopher Jones of Selma; sister, Rosellar Lowery (Dean) of Jemison; brothers-in-law, Mac Jones of Selma and Don Belcher of Selma; sisters-in-law, Margie Jones Zeiber of Clanton and Louise Oates of Jemison; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald L. Jones, Sr.; parents, Bernie and Emma Porter; and her brother, Billy Don Oates.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from the Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Kenny Hatcher and Rev. Ken Blake officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.
Interment will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande.
Pallbearers will be Steve Travis, Rex Thompson, Mark Story, Bubba Stough, Duke Brady, and Daniel Martin.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Charles Ellis and Travis Jones.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 from 5-7 pm at Northside Baptist Church.
