Donald Jones, Sr.

Donald Lewis Jones, Sr. age 81, of Selma, AL, passed away February 22, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lonice Jones; brothers, Wilbur Jones, Thomas Jones, Billy Jones, Horace Jones and sisters, Mary Farmer, Leila Gregg, Delene Harris and Hazel Harris. Mr. Jones was a member of Northside Baptist Church and retired from Bush Hog after forty-two years. Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Dollie M. Jones of Selma; son, Donald L. "Don" (Kay) Jones, Jr. of Selma; special grandson, Master Travis Christopher Jones of Selma; brother, Mac Jones; of Valley Grande, AL; sister, Mildred (Don) Belcher of Valley Grande, AL; sisters-in-law, Margie Jones Zieber of Thorsby, AL and Rosellar ( Dean) Lowery of Jemison, AL; brother-in-law, Billy (Louise) Oates of Jemison, AL and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Blake and Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 5-8:00 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Steve Travis, Rex Thompson, Charles "Bubba" Stough, Jr., Mark Story, Charles Ellis, Norman Copeland, Terry Hughes and Berry Vines. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, 2950 Citizens Pkwy., Selma, AL, 36701.
