Donald O`Neal Posey, of Valley Grande, AL, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at the age of 83 at Shelby Baptist Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born March 2, 1936 in Clanton, Al to the late June and Lydia Posey. Also preceding him in death were his wife Emmie Jo Dennis Posey; son, Thomas O`Neal Posey; brothers, Willie G. and Roger Posey; sister, Dean Sanders and son in law, Ricky Holmes.
Mr. Posey is survived by his very dear and loving companion, Linda Ware; daughter, Donna Holmes; son Jimmy (Anita) Posey; daughter in law, Joy Smith Posey; brother, Earl Posey; grandchildren, Neal (Landon) Posey, Shannon (Robert) Blackmon, Misty (Allen) Wilkinson, Joey (Amber) Holmes, Tara (Roger) Beckley, Blair (Michael) Adams and Kelly Nicole Posey; great grandchildren Fynn Posey, Allie Wilkinson, Martin Wilkinson, Emmie Holmes, Bella and Thad Beckley, Brayson Cranmore, Brady and Piper Adams.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 20, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Selma Funeral Home with Rev. Clarke Skelton officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 11:00 a.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Hobson Curry, Heath Jarvis, Ferrell Denny, Steven McDonald, Greg Posey and Tommy Johnson.
