Donald Zimmerman

Donald F. Zimmerman age 90 of Selma, passed away on February 19, 2020 at Merry Wood Lodge Nursing Home in Elmore, AL. He was born January 14, 1930 in Minnesota to the late David Zimmerman and the late Elsi Wood Zimmerman.
He retired as a Tech Sgt (TSgt) with the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his children, David (Susan) Zimmerman and Donna (Ron) Hudson; daughter-in-law, Margie Zimmerman; grandchildren, Shane Zimmerman, Erik (Kristie) Zimmerman, Tonya Hudson, Cookie (Richard) Davis, Julia (Mark) Humbarger; great-grandchildren, Koleigh Zimmerman, Evin Zimmerman, Dylan Davis, Josh Hudson, Sommer Bullard, and Olivia Humbarger; and great-great-grandchild, Michael Mapes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Elsi Zimmerman; wife, Jeanette Zimmerman; son, Larry Zimmerman; and siblings, Joyce Stenson and Joel Zimmerman.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Stover and Pastor Jerry Young officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Shane Zimmerman, Erik Zimmerman, Tonya Hudson, Cookie Davis, Josh Hudson, and Evin Zimmerman.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Zimmerman, Ron Hudson, Rich Davis, Dylan Davis, and Mike Kane.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Ivy Creek Hospice of Wetumpka, 500 Hospital Dr. Wetumpka, AL 36092.
