Donna Victoria Duncan Nickles, lovingly dubbed "Donna Mae", a woman known for her strong presence and unwavering love, passed away on July 15, 2024 after a brief, but valiant battle with cancer. Born on September 18, 1972, Donna lived a life filled with compassion, determination, and a spirit that touched the hearts of many.

In partnership with her husband Wayne, she was a proud owner of Meadows Tire & Automotive, LLC. Their dedication and hard work were evident in the success of their business, which stood as a testament to their partnership.

Described as a force to be reckoned with, Donna had a magnetic personality that left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of meeting her. She was opinionated yet incredibly caring and loving. Known affectionately as "Mama" to everyone she encountered, Donna had a way of making others feel seen and cherished, especially her "adoptive children", Britney Hatfield, Kimberly Hamm and Tatum Whitfield. She was known to take in strays - human and animal, extending her nurturing nature beyond boundaries. In every setting she entered, whether it be work or home, Donna was not just Mama but also the boss—earning respect and admiration wherever she went. She had a no-nonsense pragmatic personality, where she brought the company staff to attention and demanded excellence from all those around her - especially P-Nut.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Donna found joy in simple pleasures. She adored reading books, engaging in card games, watching Alabama Football and embarking on hunting expeditions for deer and one unlucky duck in Arkansas. Fishing trips and family beach outings were cherished moments where Donna could be found at peace and surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Nickles; children, Cullen Wayne Nickles, Victoria Nichole Nalley and Lindsay Taylor Nalley (Dawson Gandy); grandchildren, Brooklyn Taylor Gandy and Dawson Wyatt Gandy; father, Samuel Lee (Carolyn) Duncan; mother, Lynn (Thomas) Swindal; siblings, Michelle (Matthew) Jenkins, Amber (Josh) Wilson, Wendy (Chris) Smith, Bucky (Dana) Barrett, Tommy Swindal, Jr. and Tammy Headley; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Cambridge Christian Church with Dr. Ed Eaton and Pastor Larry Nickles officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. There will be no visitation.
