Doris Chisolm Tucker, age 84, of Selma, died Monday, June 8, 2009 at Vaughn Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Tucker was born on April 2, 1925. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. R. Chisolm of Marion Junction, Alabama. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday June 11, 2009 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Mark McGee officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Tucker spent her early life in Marion Junction, Alabama. She attended the first six years of public school in that community. In 1943, she graduated from Albert G. Parrish High School in Selma. She then attended Huntingdon College and graduated in 1947. She worked as a social worker for Dallas County Pensions and Securities. On December 18, 1948, she married Jack Pickens Tucker, a native of Grove Hill, Alabama. Son of Roy Pickens Tucker and Annie Mae Pugh Tucker. Mr. Tucker worked as a farm agent. He later became vice-president for Peopleé��é��é��s Bank and Trust Company. Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother and sister-in é��é��é�"law, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Chisolm, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Janelle Tucker, nephews, Floyd Chisolm of Kentucky, Joseph Chisolm of San Antonio, Texas, a niece, Mrs. Robert Cuthall (Lynn) in Gainesville, Florida. Special Friends are Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Gray, Jr. (Marcille), Naomi and Becky Freeman. Pallbearers will be John Chisolm, Gary Pierson, Pat Chestnut, Dick Morthland, Harry Gamble and Jack Wright. Honorary Pallbearers are MICU Staff, Dr. Julian Howell, Neal Averette and Hubbard (Hub) Maroney.
