Dorothy Bearden

Bearden, Dorothy Chandler "Dot", was born on December 5th, 1926 to Otto and Ruby Chandler. Mrs. Bearden passed away on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016 in Tullahoma, Tennessee at the age of 89. She will be remembered for her love of the Lord and family. She was passionate about her family and the special relationships she shared with each member.

Mrs. Bearden was preceded in death by her husband of forty one years, James Rivers Bearden. She is survived by her brother, Doug (Pat) Chandler of Selma, Alabama; aunt, Ruth Newsome of Selma, Alabama; brother-in-law, HJ Autrey of Orange Beach, Alabama; sister-in-law, Dot Lovelady of Selma, Alabama; daughter, Janice (Temple) Bowling IV of Tullahoma; son, James (Kathy) Henderson, Jr. of Selma, Alabama; daughter, Joy (Dan) Sikes of Prattville, Alabama; step-sons, James (Miriam) Bearden Sr. and Paul (Mary Gail) Bearden, both of Selma, Alabama; grandchildren, Temple (Kimberly) Bowling V of Berry Alabama, Elizabeth Bowling of Tullahoma, Jonathan (Jackie) Bowling of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, John Allen (Lori) Taylor of Monroe, Louisiana, Paige (Adam) Sleister of North Augusta, South Carolina, Megan Henderson of Huger, South Carolina; step-grandchildren, Pam (Marc) Ivey of Selma, Alabama, Alan (Carrie) Bearden of Selma, Alabama, Ross (Gwen) Bearden of Auburn, Alabama, John Paul (Natalie) Bearden of Montgomery, Alabama and Kent Bearden of Selma, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Temple Bowling VI, Walter Chandler Bowling, and Tyner Elizabeth Bowling all of Berry, Alabama, Anna Katherine "Katie" Bowling, Jonathan Clark Bowling II, Elizabeth "Libby" Elaine Bowling and Benjamin Temple Bowling all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Zachary Sleister of North Augusta, South Carolina; step-great-grandchildren, Brady Wesson of Monroe, Louisiana, Alston Ivey, Grace Anne Ivey, Jack Bearden and Hatch Bearden all of Selma, Alabama, and Emma Kate Bearden and Graham Bearden of Auburn, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Mrs. Bearden will be held on Saturday, February 13th, 2016 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Lawrence Brown Service Funeral Home in Selma, Alabama with the funeral service to immediately follow at 1:00pm with Rev. Steve Kopp officiating and Lawrence Brown Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.
