Dorothy Watson

Dorothy Jean Reagan Watson, of Selma, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the age of 80 following a lengthy illness. Born in Sevier County in east Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Otha Reagan and Nora Reagan. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Householder of Alcoa, Tennessee, Ruby Vaughan and Hazel Irene Vaughan of Rockford, Tennessee; two brothers, Hubert Reagan and Otha James Reagan, of Alcoa, Tennessee. Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years, Paul C. Watson, Jr.; one sister, Catherine Burns of Maryville, Tennessee; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Cindy Watson of Roswell, Georgia; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Wayne (Monk) Moore of Tyler, Alabama; three grandchildren, Rodney Moore and his wife, Kelly Anne of Aiken, South Carolina, Angie Watson of Roswell, Georgia, and Shelby Moore of Tyler, Alabama; two great-grandchildren, Cooper Moore and Laura Leigh Moore. A member of Northside Baptist Church, "Dot" belonged to the Athenian Chapter No. 159 Evening Star in Athens, Tennessee where she resided prior to moving to Selma in 1966. She was an avid University of Tennessee fan and enjoyed spending fall and winter seasons in Panama City Beach, Florida. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 6 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home. Graveside services will be on Friday, June 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens with Rev. Tom Stacy officiating. Dr. Don Overstreet of Selma will serve as honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to Cahaba Hospice, 410 Church Street, Selma, AL, 36701.
