Douglas Eugene Sellars, Sr. of Marion, Alabama passed away November 6, 2016 at the age of 82 at Perry County Nursing Home. He was born January 10, 1934 in Anson County, Wadesboro, North Carolina to the late Hardy Franklin and Dixie Mae Sellars.
For his service in The Korean War, his name is memorialized and honored on a memorial in Unicoi County, Erwin, Tennessee along with hundreds of other fellow servicemen.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly Abston Sellars of Marion, Alabama; sons, Douglas E. Sellars, Jr. (Linda) of Eunice, Louisiana, Curtis Hardy Sellars (Margaret) of Lowdesboro, Alabama and Warren Keith Sellars (Tracey) of Benton, Alabama; daughter, Christi Sellars Nichols (Tim); grandchildren, Christopher Blake Sellars (Desiree), Benjamin Douglas Sellars, Harrison Brent Sellars, Dalton Taylor Sellars, Erin Caroline Sellars, Morgan Elizabeth Sellars, Dylan Garrett Nichols (Koli), Jacob Allan Nichols and Landon Keith Nichols and great-grandchildren, Aidan Sellars and twins, Janie and Ellye Nichols.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery, Selma, Alabama with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
