Earl Parker

Edgar Earl Parker passed away February 27, 2023 in Selma, Alabama at the age of 97. He was born April 20, 1925, to the late Edgar Phillip Parker and Lola Moseley Parker. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Seabees.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lee "Dot" Parker and sister, Gladys P. Barker.

He is survived by his nephews, Lawrence Daniel (Carolyn) Edwards and Russell Earl Edwards; niece, Reba Edwards Wells; six great-nieces and nephews and thirteen great-nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was also blessed to have such a loving church family at Ocmulgee Baptist Church, where he has been a lifetime member.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Misty E. Barrett and Rev. Bill Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow at Ocmulgee Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service. The funeral service will be live streamed online, via the funeral home's Facebook page at http://watchlawrence.live for those unable to attend in person.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Smitherman, Derrick Edwards, Parker Duke, Jacob Felts, Shawn Flowers and Nathan Felts. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons and past deacons of Ocmulgee Baptist Church, Joe Davis, Dave Goodwin.
