Edna Ackerman

Edna Robinson Ackerman of Selma, AL, passed away May 18, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Robinson; brothers, Harold Wells, Henry Wells and Lawrence Wells, and sisters, Nena Dickson, Bertha Carroll and Joyce Hammel. She is survived by her husband, John H. Ackerman; son, Jim (Lauren) Robinson and their three children, Jay Robinson, Scott Robinson and Laurena Robinson; step-son, Tim (Pam) Ackerman and their eight children and sixteen grandchildren and sister, Hazel Austin. Funeral services will be Monday 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Cash and Rev. Bud Alexander officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Cary "Tiger" Jones, Paul Nichols, Frank Mitchell, Jay Robinson, Robert Sanders and Harold Wells. She retired after working 26 years as a Civil Service secretary. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or Freewill Baptist Children's Home, P. O.
