Edward Dagostin Iii

February 24, 1942 — January 20, 2017

DAGOSTIN, Edward Joseph, Ill, (Butch) Born February 24, 1942 to Edward Joseph Dagostin, Jr. and Ruby Frances Dean Dagostin in Selma, Dallas County, Alabama; died January 20, 2017 in Montgomery, Alabama, at the age of 74 years. He was predeceased by his parents, his mother and father-in-love, his nephew John Mark Polk, his brothers-in-law, his beloved Samoyed "Frosty" and his beloved Mr. Whiskers.

Most of his adult life was spent in Selma and Dallas County, Alabama as a Tile and Marble Contractor, with the exception of his military service in the US Navy. In his later adult years he loved to write short stories, many of which were published in the Selma Times Journal and in interviews with former Lifestyle Editor Jean Martin.

He was a member of Tin Can Sailors, American Legion Selma Chapter Tom Mackin Post; Civitan Club, Boy Scouts of America and a longtime member of Central Baptist Church.

Mr. Dagostin is survived by his precious wife of 46 years, Sandra Wilson Dagostin; brother, Thomas K. (Snap) Dagostin (Becky); two sisters, Diane D. Enzor and Betty Ruth D. Cutcliff; and his sister in love Laura Parkton Sundy (Harold). He is also survived by his Uncle John F. Dean (Gloria); his Aunt Sarah Nell Bless and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

No flowers are requested, however, contributions may be made in memory of Edward J. Dagostin, Ill to Tin Can Sailors, Post Office Box 100, Somerset, Ma. 02726.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. with graveside services scheduled for 12:00 at New Live Oak Cemetery and will be led by Henry Davenport.
