Edward Scott McCrory, Jr.

Edward Scott McCrory, Jr., age 85, of Selma ,Alabama, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Norma Manley McCrory; son: Edward Scott (Justine) McCrory III, Jim Manley McCrory, Alan McCrory; brother: James (Geneva)McCrory; (sisters: Elizabeth (Charles) Wood, Sue (Jolly) Chapman of Clemson, SC; and grandchildren: Jillian McCrory, Matthew McCrory, Kevin McCrory, and April Potts Manning.

Mr. McCrory is preceded in death by his parents: Scott and Vicie McCrory; and son: Edward Wayne McCrory.

Mr. McCrory was born in Selma and retired from First Alabama Bank. He was an active member of Northside Baptist Church and an original member of the group that developed North Dallas Water where he also served as vice-president. He loved Alabama football, playing dominoes, and found pleasure working circle a word puzzles as well as spending time on his tractor.

Services will be held in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013 with Rev. Henry LeVert officiating. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will begin before the service at 12:30.

Pallbearers will be Scott McCrory, Jim McCrory, James McCrory, Charles Wood, Jr., Greg Chapman, Keith Chapman, Mark Chapman, Berry Vines, Terry Hughes, and Greg Dawkins. Honorary pallbearers will be: Don Jones, Tommy Lovoy, Jimmy Johnson, Jack Smith, Allan Austin, Ken Smith and Master Travis Jones.
